David: I disagree. I think empirically, that some things will be easier for most relevant applications for most people. Of course, the is an element of abritraryness. For example, in markdown, * around a word makes it bold. But that could just as easily hvae been ^

David: I think it's essential that we see the same layout on each other's screens maybe. Or at least if we are using it like this and saying 'do you see my point over there'. In actual use maybe not, maybe it would be auto jumping us around all over the place, and we each have our own view of the conversation. But right now, it can be hard to find where the 'action is happening'.
